Letter from the President: Information About the Hybrid Semester

Dear students, faculty and staff of the university,

Over the last few months and weeks, faculty and staff at the Friedrich Schiller University have made all the preparations to offer a semester of online and hybrid learning with a hygiene concept and fast, data protection-compliant contact tracing via QR Code.

The university's presidency and the university' crisis committee have been advised by experts on the measures to be taken and have come to the conclusion that the planned reduced classroom teaching can be carried out in compliance with hygiene regulations.

The current development of the pandemic and the decisions at national and federal state level require our strategy once again on the test bench. The Presidency and the crisis committee will consult on this today and tomorrow.

Please understand that, given the current dynamics of developments, we are unable to provide you with complete planning security for the classroom teaching. However, we still assume that the limited attendance will be possible as planned if everyone helps to contain the spread of the virus by acting cautiously and following the rules. Further information will follow.

Best regards and stay healthy!
